Manufacturing Processes

Powder Coating

Powder coating provides a durable finish at reasonable cost, but results depend on pretreatment as much as on the powder. Finish failures are usually surface preparation failures.

Pretreatment and adhesion

Ask what pretreatment the coater uses and how it is monitored. Blasting, washing and phosphate systems each suit different substrates and service environments. For outdoor or corrosive service, pretreatment is the single biggest driver of coating life.

Capacity and logistics

Oven size and line capacity determine maximum part dimensions. For large weldments, confirm both the oven envelope and the hanging method before shipping parts across the state.
