Manufacturing Processes

Forging

Forging is chosen when mechanical properties matter: the grain flow produced by deformation delivers strength that castings and machined billet cannot match in demanding applications.

Open versus closed die

Open die forging suits large, simple shapes and low volumes without dedicated tooling. Closed die forging produces near-net shapes repeatably, with die cost amortized over volume.

Downstream operations

Heat treatment, machining and inspection usually follow forging. Confirm which steps the supplier controls and what documentation accompanies the finished part.
